Work on V0.6 - 2025/10/20 – DEVLOG#25
Hey everyone!
Work on version 0.6 is going well, and as planned, it’s shaping up to be the biggest update so far, with a lot of new story content coming your way.
Story Progress
The full storyline for version 0.6 is now completely written. Everything — from ambience to dialogue — is done. What remains now is the visual part, handled entirely in Blender for the renders.
I’ll probably take a few days before release to re-read and polish everything (typos, pacing, overall coherence), but the hardest part is behind me.
This chapter will be a dark one, expanding the world beyond the city and giving the player a glimpse of how fractured and corrupted it has truly become. For the first time, you’ll be fully exposed to the corruption lurking beyond the safety of Devoh’s walls.
Models and Characters
This update introduces several new character models. Most of them were built in Koikatsu and required only minor adjustments, but one — a very important one — is getting much more attention.
Finding the right balance in their design has been a challenge, but I’m happy with the direction it’s taking. The process involves a full workflow: sculpt cleanup, rigging, and toon-shading calibration (which, I’ll admit, might get simplified if time becomes too tight).
Scene Rendering
Myrelis the Beautiful is a completely new environment, which means everything had to be built from scratch.
Every detail — architecture, lighting, and color palette — has to blend seamlessly with the lore and atmosphere I want to convey.
The biggest difficulty so far has been mixing toon shading with colored lighting.
Stylized materials tend to break easily under complex light setups, so I had to work around it through compositing, adding controlled glow, color correction, and depth passes to preserve the game’s signature look.
Right now, about 20% of all required scenes are rendered — but those were the easiest ones.
The next ones will be much heavier, so these last ten days before release will be tight.
Still, I’m confident everything will be ready in time.
It’s a slow process… but the results will absolutely be worth it.
What’s Next
As promised, here’s another render from my current work on Myrelis.

Next step: finish the main renders for the chapter, then start the integration inside Ren’Py — animations, transitions, and dialogue pacing.
Oh, and one last thing — this update will introduce a simple yet fundamental change:
