Rise of the Monarch –2025/06/08 – DEVLOG#7


Hey everyone,

It’s been a week since 0.25 released, and development is quietly pushing forward. No flashy advancements this time, because I mostly used my free time this week to prepare the canvas.

I’m laying the narrative bricks, and started tweaking some code in preparation for future updates.

CHAPTER 3 PROGRESS

Chapter 3 will begin in Devoh, right after the forest event.

Saori and the MC will be back to the city with Elana, ready to report back to Amaranth.

The overall structure is already outlined, but from what I can tell, this will be a hard one. So I’m aiming for a release by the end of June, or early July to keep things on a safe timeline.

DIALOGUES AND CHARACTERS

With the arrival of Elana, I’ve started refining a few character lines to better define their personalities and dynamics.

Some dialogue has been reworked to better reflect what the characters have been through, and to give more weight to their moods, silences, or sarcastic remarks.

It’s subtle work, but important for what’s coming next.

VISUAL FLOW AND BLENDER

On a more visual note, Iv’e been getting a bit more comfortable with Blender lately. I’ve tried creating renders for personal use (and for friends), while following a bunch of tutorials for modelling and texturing.

I can make DONUTS now !

That said… I’m really struggling with NPR.

Nothing too fancy yet, but if things go well, I might use Blender to enhance certain moments or previews later on.

Because, let’s be honest… the images I render with the Koikatsu tool are kind of horrible.
